LANGUAGE AND KOGNITION
(Bahasa dan Kognisi)
Language development
related to cognitive development, mean factor of intellect / cognition very
influential to the development of language ability. Infants whose intellectual level
has not developed and is still very simple. The more babies grow and develop
and begin to understand the environment, the language begins to develop from a
very simple level to a complex language. Language development is influenced by
the environment, because language is basically the result of learning from the
environment. Children (infants) learn the language as well as learn something
else. "Imitating" and "mastering the results that have been
obtained is a way of learning the language early. Baby sounds "mmm
mmm," her mother smiles, repeats and imitates by giving the sound meaning
"maem-maem". Babies learn to add words by mimicking the sounds they
hear. The adult man (especially his mother) around him corrects and clarifies. Learning
real language is only done by children aged 6-7 years, when the children start
school. So the development of language is the increasing ability mastery of
communicating tools by oral, written. Nor use signs and gestures. Being able
and mastering the means of communication is defined as an attempt to understand
and understand others.
Socializing means
doing context with others. Someone conveys his ideas and ideas by speaking and
capturing other people's ideas and ideas through language. Conveying and taking
on the meaning of ideas and ideas is an abstract thought process. The
inappropriateness of capturing the meaning of language will result in the
inaccuracy and blurred perception it acquires. A further result is that the
thought process proceeds to be incorrectly correct. The inappropriateness of
this thought-processing result is due to this inadequate lack of language.
Development Efforts in the Development of
Adolescent Language
The class or group
of learners consists of students of different languages, both in their abilities
and in their patterns. Faced with this the teacher must develop a teaching and
learning strategy in the field of language by focusing on the potential and
ability of the child. First, the child needs to do the repetition of the
lessons that have been given with the words and the language composed by the
students themselves. In this way teachers can always identify about and level
of language ability of students. Secondly, based on the results of the
identification of teachers do language development of students by adding the
vocabulary environment that has been selected precisely and correctly by the
teacher. The pupil's story of enriched subject content was expanded for the
next steps, so that the students were able to compile a more comprehensive story
about the content of the reading they had learned using their own language
patterns.
The development of
languages that use the expression model in
a meniscal manner, both oral and written, based on reading material will
further develop the language skills of children and the shape of each language
pattern. In the use of this model the teacher should provide many stimuli and
corrections in the form of discussion or free communication. In the meantime
the means of language development such as books, newspapers, magazines and
others should be provided at school and at home.
