Baby sounds "mmm mmm," her mother smiles, repeats and imitates by giving the sound meaning "maem-maem". Babies learn to add words by mimicking the sounds they hear. The adult man (especially his mother) around him corrects and clarifies. Learning real language is only done by children aged 6-7 years, when the children start school. Being able and mastering the means of communication is defined as an attempt to understand and understand others.
